About Us

After an extensive redesign and refurbishment, the long awaited Amaani Restaurant (formerly The Turnpike pub) is open.

Abdul and Naz, who have a combined experience of 50 years in hospitality, look forward to greeting you.

Abdul, who has previously had restaurants in Oldham and most recently managing in Glossop, has devised a tantalising menu with unique recipes, with assistance from the Head Chef, who is also a partner.

The Amaani boasts a large private car park for those who wish to come along in their own vehicles from neighbouring Oldham, Mossley, Saddleworth, Stalybridge, Mottram, Glossop and the surrounding areas. The restaurant is also within walking distance for local residents.

As you enter, you will be greeted into the lounge bar, where you can relax, order your drinks and nibble to get your tastebuds going, whilst you peruse the menu.

The restaurant has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed to cater for up to 150 customers, whether you are dining in as a couple, fours and sixes, or a small to large-size party with booth and zonal open-plan seating. A large function room is also available on request for any special occasion.

If customers wish to take advantage of the restaurant’s takeaway service, there will be 20% discount on collection.

For the complete luxurious dining experience, the Amaani Restaurant awaits to welcome you.

I had high expectations after hearing so many good things. We were welcomed very pleasantly, the restaurant was quiet but got seated next to a couple who were quite loud so requested that we be moved. This unfortunately set a poor tone for the rest of the meal and made us feel awkward. The meal itself i cant say was anything amazing, it was quite average and expensive for the quality. Probably would try somewhere else next time.

Great food and service. I would have been happier to see more encouragement for guests to use the hand sanitiser provided and to wear masks while moving around the restaurant. I will go back, but probably when the pandemic has become less prevalent.

Great food excellent service. Especially by our waiter. Nothing was too much trouble, recommended some dishes and looked after us. I've forgotten what my dish was called but it was 10/10. Looking forward to going back again in the future.

I have dined at Amaani roughly two or three times a month since discovering it several months ago. Despite this restaurant regularly attracting high numbers of customers every day of the week, I find their food and service standards to be consistently excellent every time. Moreover, the staff do a great job of maintaining a nice family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere for their customers. Amaani has a vast menu with many delicious starters, mains and sides, and the staff will happily answer any questions you may have, and make recommendations or adjustments at your request. I have since worked my way through a fair bit of their menu and have thoroughly enjoyed it all. For those reasons, Amaani has become my personal favourite for Indian food and I would highly recommend a visit!
