Welcome to Barton AC, also known as Shacklady’s Gym.

Formed in 1953, Barton AC is a Clubmark accrediated, voluntary run members club, home to boxing, road running, weightlifting, wrestling and general fitness.

The moto of our club is ‘Mente Viribusque Vincere’ translated as ‘With brain and strength to conquer’.

New members always welcome.

Barton AC is a great community facility run by friendly and helpful volunteers. It’s a Sport England funded facility to help people in the local community get active in a safe environment. It’s also affiliated to 4 National Governing Bodies of Sport. They have the odd competition and event running from here including boxing matches. Well worth stopping by and saying hello!
