Went today knowing the sign in the door said last donations at 3:30. Rang the bell to be greeted by a woman who’s first words were “we stopped taking donations at 3pm” (it was 3:15). I stated the time to be told they were full and go to next door charity shop which was shut. There was no apology, no suggestions to come back another time. No thank you for thinking of the charity. I know all staff are volunteers but they need a course in customer service. I have since found out this has happened to a neighbour of mine at the next door charity. So obviously they have had too many donations. But it would of been nice to if we had been told.

Staff member rudely approached me and shouted I must wear a face mask. After explaining I'm exempt, she told me I must show evidence. It's illegal to ask for this, government guidelines literally say so. This made me feel really uncomfortable and humiliated around other people in the shop.

I don't know why some people have posted negative comments on the volunteer staff. Bought a scarf from them the other day and returned a day later with a question and they were helpful, chatty and one lass had a beautiful smile. They're volunteers in a charity shop so take your custom elsewhere if you expect 100% perfect customer service satisfaction. It doesn't exist anywhere anyway!
