Creamline Dairies1 StarAt least the bloke in the parrot sketch got the initial enjoyment of buying a parrot, even if it did later turn out to be dead. This is a charity shop so obsessively caught up in making sure no one gets a bargain, it's ceased to resemble a shop at all.
Went in-looked through the records. Some were priced up, others not. I pick out one or two interesting but unpriced LPs, nothing valuable. I ask the lady at the counter what the prices are of the LPs that are not priced up. No response. Ask again, she hears, but doesn't know. I ask '50p? A pound?', but she insists on contacting another lady upstairs, who doesn't know either. She then phones the shop manager, who is elsewhere, a phone call which takes at least ten minutes. She assures me she'll get the answer. Then, the manager comes in. This must be it, but no, he is preoccupied with other matters. At this point, we must be 20 minutes in from when I first asked the question, so wearying with this Pythonesque level of bureaucratic dither and stalling, I give up. Another 10 minutes may have cracked it, who knows?
