Thanks for dropping by.
We're a United Reformed Church, a group of Christians with two sites, both originally Congregational in worship style, in Burnage and Withington/Didsbury, South Manchester.
See History for how we got here.
See Calendar for where we are meeting and when
Our worship is as varied as the surrounding properties, Messy Church and Junior Church alongside varied expressions of adult church and frequent celebrations of communion; Wesley and Watts being sung alongside Kaan and Kendrick, Tomlin and Townsend; council housing surrounding a garden village, cheek by jowl with luxury apartments and student flats.
Two sites, three buildings means that before and after Covid restrictions, a lot can be going on at the same time, covering the full age spectrum.
Due to a duty of care, CCSMURC are still following some Covid 19 rules for on-site services:
• Those attending worship and other events will still be asked to complete a register for the purposes of Track & Trace.
• No longer any restriction for Covid-19 reasons on the numbers attending worship.
• People attending will still be asked to use hand sanitizer.
• The wearing of face masks at worship will be optional, but people will be asked to consider the well-being of others and encouraged to wear masks whilst singing.
• Doors and windows will be opened during worship to provide good ventilation, but with due consideration for the weather conditions at the time.
• Refreshments may be served at services, but numbers of people involved in preparation and serving should be limited as much as possible.:
For those in isolation, quarantining or just being cautious, when possible, services are being streamed on Zoom and worship sheets are available, by e-mail, on request.
Breaking: CCSMURC are supporting The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal recently launched by The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) .which is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. They come together to speak in one voice and make fundraising more efficient when they launch an appeal.
The list of charities includes Oxfam, TearFund, British Red Cross, Islamic Relief and Christian Aid.
If you would like to make a donation to this humanitarian appeal you can either do so on-line at https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal or by phone by calling 0370 60 60 900
N.B. This website is now live but it is still a work in progress; apologies if there are things missing or not quite up to standard. Hopefully this website is dynamic and will continue to evolve and develop, time and resources permitting.
