Good evening We have managed in school today but this afternoon it has been extremely hot and it has been difficult to to find shaded areas outside. As a result we are giving parents the option of collecting children at 1:15pm from the playgrounds as normal. This will enable us to move any remaining children to the coolest areas within school. Any questions please ask. Please find attached our risk assessment for the next two days due to the unprecedented weather. As per the newsletter, we will be having playtime early in the morning and then staying in over lunchtime. If the forest areas are cool and shaded, we will provide a short time outside in the afternoon. Please be assured that we have a risk assessment in place and will be doing everything we can to keep the children as cool as possible during the day. Please ensure that your child has sun lotion applied before school, has a sunhat and a water bottle. Please ensure your child has sun tan lotion applied before school and send them in with some so that they can reapply before lunch (named please). Please also send them in with a sun hat and water bottle. This is important for the whole school and especially rec and ks1 who have their sports day in the afternoon. The weather for the next two weeks is looking similar (albeit not quite as hot) so please ensure that each day you send in the above items. Thank you.
