Farnworth School Of Motoring

Our aim is to provide all your training needs - whether you wish to become an ADI or to enhance your current ADI skills. Farnworth School of Motoring is perhaps the oldest in the Bolton area. It was founded in 1945 by Mr. James B. Howard in response to changes in the law and the demand for driver training. In 1975, with the ever increasing need for driving instructors, Farnworth SOM began specializing in ADI work. We provide specialized instruction in every aspect of driver training including: Driving Instructor Training | Driving Instructor Re-Training | Cardington Special Driving Test | Advanced Driving (DIAmond Advanced Test) | Learner Tuition and Pass Plus. Our Instructor Re-Training services include the all important ADI Standards Check. The training is directed by Peter W. Howard Dip DI (son of James B. Howard) who is an A Grade driving instructor who holds the City & Guilds Teaching Certificate, has passed the Diploma in Driving Instruction and has gained the coveted DIAmond Advanced Instructor/Examiner qualification. He is also listed on the ORDIT register – The OFFICIAL REGISTER of DRIVING INSTRUCTOR TRAINERS. This means that his business is checked by a senior official from the DVSA every two years, who assesses not only the quality of training but also the standard of the training facilities, including premises. a few words about Bolton. Bolton began as a small village. However Bolton grew larger and more important in the early Middle Ages. In 1251 Bolton was made into a town. Today Bolton is thriving place, and part of Greater Manchester, so if you wish to become and adi do your adi work here

Passed my Diamond special driving test 21/11/14. with 1 minor fault! Many thanks to Peter Howard of Farnworth SOM for the advanced special training, and to Steve Swinton of Castle hill SOM for conducting the exam. The DIAmond Special Test is aimed at drivers and professional driver trainers who want to take their driving or riding to the highest level. Going beyond the DIAmond Advanced Test, and adding new elements such as commentary driving, it is the perfect springboard on to opening up your career as a driver trainer, and with Peters expert tuition you stand a very good chance of achieving this, as I did! Perhaps the most demanding driving qualification outside of the emergency services, the DIAmond Special Test proves you've got what it takes! You will need a trainer who is at this high standard and beyond. Peter is undoubtedly the man for the job! The test lasts for 90 minutes and is assessed over a route of mixed driving. You need fewer than three faults to pass and any fault must not be repeated. The Special Test also includes a commentary driving element and candidates are expected to have a thorough understanding of eco-safe driving. Peter walked me through all these elements to success, Thank you Peter!
