Irish dancing is a traditional style of dancing originated from Ireland. It includes solo dancing, as well as team dances such as a ceili dance. Even though Irish dancing has been around for centuries, the dancing style has definitely evolved over the years with more modern choreography being performed by groups such as Prodijig and within more recent Riverdance or Lord of the Dance shows.
FD Academy of Irish Dance offers children 4 years and over the opportunity to give this exciting dance style a go in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment.
Children are taught the traditional steps & more modern steps, and are supported to reach their potential and achieve their dancing goals – building confidence, making new friends and having lots of fun along the way!
Classes take place at Bridgewater Studios, Bridgewater Mill, Legh Street, Eccles, M30 0UT.
Our dance home is only a short 10 minute drive from Manchester City Centre, and we have dance classes for beginners through to championship level.
We pride ourselves in the community feel we have built through our dancing families, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our school.

Zoe Foster5 StarI would highly recommend FD Academy of Irish Dance to everyone. My 4 year old daughter absolutely enjoys it each week. Her confidence has come on leaps and bounds.
Faye teaches her things through fun games and activities and she cannot wait to go back week on week. Throughout lockdown Faye has continued on zoom and also sent us some videos to watch and practise at home.
Faye is so patient and lovely and very professional, putting so much effort into the children and everything she does.
My daughter also attended a workshop on a weekend when restrictions eased and she had so much fun.Thursday 4th February 2021
Andrea Ingham5 StarMy granddaughters absolutely love Irish dancing with Faye. They have been dancing for a few years now and have come on tremendously.
Faye has the patience of a saint and is lovely with all the children, encouraging them to do their best.
Classes are always fun and appropriate for each age group.
It’s a chance for children to make new friends in a warm, friendly and safe environment where they will learn amazing and intricate dance steps.
