The Golden Lion is a friendly and welcoming food house on the Swinton and Clifton border. The pub offers a comfortable, open-plan dining area and large heated beer garden with TV screens. The substantial L-shaped bar serves a variety of cask ales, award-winning lagers and stocks plenty of bottled beer and real ales. You can also take your pick from our gin and rum menu, choice of spirits and international wines.
The Golden Lion serves fantastic pub food seven days a week from breakfast to late evening. The wide-ranging menu has pub classics, wraps, hanging kebabs and a selection of vegan friendly dishes. You can also make the most of our regular food offers.

Nathan Davey5 StarEaten here twice now. The food is nice and good value for money. The staff are very friendly. The first time we just turned up, and they did their best to accommodate our group desire the reserved tables. The second time we booked a table for a medium sized group and everything was fine. Conveniently placed just 2 minutes from the m60. Will definitely be back.Saturday 16th April 2022
Steve wilson2 StarGood bar service, very polite staff.But we have just been in for Sunday lunch, food not cooked fresh, roast potatoes warmed up tough as old boots, beef tough ,all in all very poor. we dident complane - dont like to make a fuss. Janet Woolliscroft4 StarI've been going in here about 3 yes for the odd meall, it's very clean the staff are very friendly and will do anything in their power to help with anything. But for the first time I had a rump steak, it was my anniversary so went. This steak refused to be cut or eaten it was tough as old boots, I complained and Wen it went back the chef agreed and so I did not pay for it, I was also offered free dessert which I declined and the girl could not apologise enough. Don't no if it's a one but will see.Sunday 14th August 2022
