We have been using these kennels since our (very difficult) Border Collie was a puppy ( he is now 11) and have always been very happy with his stay. The previous comment that dogs aren't walked enough does not ring true with us and was never our experience. We have just picked him up today, 10th of April 2019 in great shape. Debbie, the now single owner (after a recent breavement) knows her stuff and cares deeply for the dogs she looks after. A true home away from home.

If I could give zero stars I would. Really not one to give negative feedback would usually just not go back but felt it important to warn others. This kennel only allows a small window to drop Off and pick up your dog, one hour in a morning and one hour in an evening - Sunday’s only one hour in an evening. At first this was sold as to not want to disturb the other dogs but this is nothing more than a way to extract more money from customers. We unfortunately were held in traffic and rang to explain we would be slightly later, we were meet with extreme rudeness (shouting, slamming down of phone) and told that she would not hand back our dogs. Eventually after a lot of confrontation she screamed to just come and get them, we were really concerned for the dogs welfare at this point due to the level of aggression. However this is not the bit that has lead me to leave the review it was the state of our dogs in return, they were saturated in urine and had obviously been left in the kennels the entire time. The blanket we took smelt of fabric softener so had not been placed in. The dogs were desperate for the toilet, had upset stomachs, were thirsty and hungry, she told us she had just fed them! One dog had a sore in her leg and has been very distressed. We feel so upset to have put our dogs through this and would not want others to feel the same. Just an additional note she took down her website so we couldn’t leave a review so obviously has dealt with this in the past.

We have used this kennel for 3 dogs over a 30 year period. All the dogs have been happy to be left there on return visits. When we took our dog in this weekend he towed me down the yard towards Debbie and on collection this morning, whilst pleased to see us, he was relaxed and moved confidently between us and Debbie whilst we stood chatting for a while. I would recommend the care at Higher Capstone kennels without hesitation.

How can anyone consider putting a dog in this kennels. These owners tie their own Great Dane up at the gate from early in the morning and only remove it when customers are coming to collect their dogs. This dog then barks incessantly for the rest of the day. None of the dogs are walked from here and only let out in a small compound. I notice there are no reviews on this site perhaps it is because the owners are too scared to have them.

I have put not responsive because this kennels is closed but the Google listing has not been updated. We used to use them and were going to again but the phone number did not work. I went there to see. Was told that the business stopped operating last October. The new owners still have people turning up thinking the kennels is still there!
