Ruth Shearn2 StarSix years ago, we had a small leak in a top floor bedroom and contacted James Bros for a quote. Although the leak was only in one area, Matt convinced us of the need for an entirely new roof at a significant cost. Sadly, this didn't remedy the leak. At first, Matt was helpful in trying to identify the root cause (which involved more expense as he suggested we change our washing machine and have the chimney repointed). Eventually he lost patience. To cut a long story short, we still have the very original leak which means an entire wall in the bedroom is damp and unsightly. To add insult to injury, we also have a leak that wasn't there before the new roof was fitted. I understand that our roof shape is unusual and that identifying leaks is challenging but all these years later, still feel pretty aggrieved by the whole situation. It seems the only way to sort the issue is to hire a forensic roofing expert. Apart from the pain of yet more expense, they're rather hard to find. Besides, I'm somewhat jaded by this whole experience and no longer know who to trust so wish me luck. In summary, still disappointed after all these years, although we're clearly in the minority.Saturday 22nd January 2022
