My Grandma was at this home for about 4 months And my grandma’s sister was also there 3 years later for a few weeks. Both times my family members received excellent care. The staff were so lovely and supportive not only to them but us as a family too. They always went above and beyond and seemed to really care for my family members like they were their own. My mum ivy Allensadly died recently,she was 95 and had spent her last two years being cared for and looked after at Newlands. Though both my sisters and their families were able to visit on, an almost daily basis, i could not visit very often because I lived s far away.butI was always sure that she was being well taken care of with love and compassion. when i did visit the staff were like family members and treated us with the same kindness and understanding. Also the whole place was beautifully kept And had none of the atmosphere one usually associates with nursing homes. I can only send my heartfelt thanks from myself and my family to all the staff and management.

Whatever you do, please do not send a loved one to this care home. The facilities look great, but scratch below the surface and you will quickly find that whilst most of the carers are good and do their best, there aren't enough of them. The meagre nursing staff are poorly trained in basic elderly palliative patient care, often blocking my mothers access to a Doctor, and did not administer pain relief when requested. We had to push for any help at all. The management did not sufficiently address any of the issues we reported, they ignored or dismissed our concerns. I wish we had never stepped foot in the place.
