Brilliant hotel with fantastic gardens! We went when it was very quiet and it was lovely! If you have the bridal suite the dual bathtubs in the room do take a little while for the hot water to eventually come through but that's just down to old pipework. Fantastic if you want somewhere to relax and just unwind. Recommended! 🙂

Room was huge and very clean. Bed was very comfy. Bit of a strange place though with the chapel on site and visible from the bedrooms. And all the Godly statues. There isn't a lounge! I paid £73 for the room which was incredibly reasonable. I could have been in the budget hotel next door for the same price - I'm so glad I wasn't.

Great wedding venue but under staffed waiting far to long for service. Breakfast in the morning waited 40 minutes to be served otherwise I would have been happy to give five stars 🌟

When I arrived the room I was staying in was poor conditioned. Had to place a deposit down and I’ve still yet to receive it back to me. It’s been 3 weeks. Apart from that staff were lovely and welcoming

I was very nervous about the hotel having read some awful reviews, but I have to say they did not mirror my experience at Rainhill Hall at all. From arrival the reception staff were professional, efficient and thoughtful. I was shown to my room personally and my bag was carried for me, having had surgery recently this was greatly appreciated. The room was in the modern block of the hotel, overlooking the garden and woodlands to the rear. Simple furnishings, but perfectly adequate, a large double/twin bed arrangement, huge TV (in a bit of an awkward location) tea and coffee tray. The bathroom was spacious, huge shower, little bit cramped around the loo due to size of handbasin. The room was spotlessly clean, smelt fresh and overall I was very happy. I had pre booked at the on site restaurant but wasn't very hungry so I ordered hummus and olives and sat outside with a lovely cold cider. Breakfast was excellent, delicious pastries, and my scrambled eggs, black pudding and bacon was cooked perfectly. I have to say the staff have been fantastic throughout my stay, so friendly, thoughtful and chatty. I think they felt sorry for me as a solo traveller lol. I probably reminded them of their mothers! Their thoughtfulness was much appreciated. So, a great experience for myself overall. I know the staff are working hard to bring the hotel up to a high standard and have struggled through the pandemic, they are doing a tremendous job. Couple of suggestions would be to provide a chair in the bedroom and maybe get rid of the fake flowers? Personal taste but I felt there were too many and they distracted from the gorgeous original features and furnishings. I will definitely be back for a weekend when the spa reopens.
