What do I want from my Driving Lessons Bolton?

Ask yourself this question before you even make contact with an Instructor. Think about what’s included and not just the price per hour, what’s the service like?, if the instructor is unreliable then your lessons are going to be hit and miss. What Guarantees do they offer?, all of which will give you confidence in choosing the correct instructor for you.

The usual questions are that get asked of us,

1, How long will it take?

2, How much?

You will always get the same response from instructor’s to the first question, as it really does depend on you, your experience, your willingness to learn and the mood you turn up to lessons.

Click this link to more info on ‘How long will it take to pass my test’?

The second question is great if your looking for the cheapest instructor in town, remember there is a reason why some are so cheap, ever heard the phrase “you get what you pay for”, if not ask your parents I’m sure they understand this one.

Here at ‘RichMorrisDrivingSafe’, we are not the most expensive nor are we the cheapest, I offer fantastic value, it is not all based on the price, what else do you get included in the package?

Here is a link to our ‘Driving Lesson offers for Bolton and Bury’.

Think about the supermarkets for instance, you have bargain basements, Aldi and Lidl, nothing wrong with them but like I said you get what you pay for, then you have your mid range, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco, possibly Sainsbury’s, you get better quality and value, plus a better service.

Then you have your Marks and Spencer and Waitrose, with great quality and service to match, but it comes at a cost.

Driving lessons are much the same, so do you want bargain basement or some decent service and quality?

I pride myself on always being on time and always turn up, actually I feel let down if a student cancels on me!, just check out these genuine reviews from actual students, most who passed ‘FIRST time’.

Booking in for your Driving Lessons

When you make contact with ‘RichMorrisDrivingSafe’, you will be greeted by a friendly relaxed person, ready to answer any of the questions you may have.

Once you have decided to book in with us, we will agree a day and time of each lesson and you will know when you will be starting.

You will receive a message confirming all of the above and what you need to bring with you on your first lesson. Any payment confirmation will be contained in this message as well.

As we approach the exciting day when you will get behind the wheel, you will receive other messages from us, just to confirm everything, we like to stay in touch with you to keep you updated, as previously mentioned, its about service!

We also send you access to a ‘Theory Test App’, totally free, plus we can recommend others that for a small fee, £4.99, offer a pass guarantee.(not paid to us, nor do we receive any commission).

First Lesson Expectation

So on the day we will arrive, usually a few minutes early, remember always be ready at the time stated to get your full lesson.

You will get a message to let you know the instructor that you are expecting has arrived.

As you come out we will great you and ask what you would like us to call you?.

An eye sight test is the first thing that we do from 20 meters away, I will ask you to read a car registration plate, you must be able to do this, its fine if you need glasses or contacts, however they then must be worn on all lessons.

Then you will jump in the passage seat so we can do a licence check, just to ensure you are covered under the school insurance, done through the DVSA website.

When that’s all fine we will go through few pieces of information, there is a pack that contains a lesson planner, so any other lessons that you have decided to book will be written down on it.

Next will be the ‘Partnership Agreement’, its just what you can expect from me and what I expect from you, this is available here.

Then the lesson plan and goals, you will be encouraged through your lessons to self-reflect on how things are going, both positively and what can be improved, at the end of the lessons we will make a note of these to help us remember on the next lesson, along with setting the goals of what we will achieve that lesson.

We will then drive to a training area, no more than 10 minutes away, I find up in Ainsworth the best place, the roads a reasonably wide, few parked cars and good hills, then as you become more experienced, the roads around Little lever are good for tight turns and crossroads, each goal has a different area, starting in a quite location (nursery area), then as you take more ownership we move to more advanced areas.

On the way we will get to know each other, you will find that we are chilled out and down to earth.

Once we arrive, we will discuss the safest way to swap seats, then when you are sat in the driver seat we will start to look at setting the cockpit up for you to be comfortable and reach everything.

Then come’s the controls, just the basic ones to help you keep control of the car.

That’s it, we are then set up and ready to start driving, which we will do slowly and with my help you will move the car away from the side of the road and pull back up at the curb.

You will do this a few times until you are happy it is going well, with little help from me.

Once you are happy to take ownership from each goal we will move onto the next one, all the way up to you being ready for test.

Another great service we offer is a FREE test booking service, both Theory and Practical, so you don’t have to worry about that, as instructor’s we can see a lot more availability in the local tests centre’s.

We have links to all different questions that you might have, don’t worry it is just on another page of this website, please feel free to take a look, in the unlikely event that you can’t find what you are looking for then please get in contact with us and we will be happy to help, with no pushy sales service, we do not do this as we need you to feel 100% comfortable with us when you jump in the car.  FAQ LINK

When are you test ready?

As driving instructors, we can only advise people about their readiness to take a test!

You may think you are driving well when the instructor is:

Telling you when to change gear!

Asking you what the speed limit is!

Talking you through every manoeuvre!

Telling you which lane to be in!

Reminding you which exit to come off of on a roundabout because you forget!

Helping you when you can’t work out if there is enough space for you to get your car through!

If all, or any of the above apply to you, then you are not test ready!

When the door shuts and it’s just you and the examiner, the car is the loneliest place to be, when you make a mistake and your brain goes to mush it’s the worst feeling ever!

Remember those family and friends who urge you to just have a go for the experience, aren’t the ones having to go through it, people have very selective memories when it comes to driving and tests!

Ask anyone who has failed a test if it was a nice experience!

Remember it’s YOU doing the test, no one else, no phone to google answers, no help from anyone else just YOU!

If you are up to standard, you will still be nervous, but you won’t be doubtful of your ability!

Go look in the mirror and have a straight talk with yourself!

Our cars are not hire cars and we need them to earn, its up to you to prove we can trust you to drive independently

This is a skill for life.

It saves YOUR life and other road users life.

Please remember I have a duty of care to you, the examiners and other road users to not present students that are not test ready.

The big question is…….

Would you take an A level if you hadn’t studied enough and then expect to pass it?

Thanks for reading. Have a serious think …..
