St George's Altrincham

A new era for St George’s Altrincham

We are looking forward to exciting times ahead as our new vicar, Revd Claire Corley, is set to start her ministry here at St George’s from September 2022. After many wonderful years as a history secondary school teacher, Claire was ordained in 2017 in the Diocese of Leeds. She has just moved to Altrincham and is looking forward to getting to know everyone. She and her husband have three children, more pets than they can count, and she loves walking, nature and curling up with a good book. We are extremely pleased about this development and warmly welcome her to our community. Her first Sunday Services will be on the 4th September, with the main service starting at 9.30am. Please join us and “come and see” the start of a new era at St George’s.

St. George's is the Church of England Parish Church of Altrincham. We are a lively and friendly community of people always ready to welcome new people.

Our worship is centered round the Eucharist, a service that some people may know as Holy Communion or Mass. We aim to be inclusive and our worship has dignity but a relaxed style. Everyone is welcome.

We cater for all ages and we have an excellent Parish Centre used by many groups within the Church and the local community both for learning and for fun. Happy Kids Altrincham Pre-School Playgroup uses the Parish Centre five mornings and three afternoons each week.

There is the popular and excellent Altrincham Church of England Aided School just behind St George's Church in Townfield Road with nursery and primary provision.

Safeguarding We take our duty and obligation to safeguard and protect all people extremely seriously, and we have adopted the national Church of England's robust safeguarding procedures and guidelines.
