The Bamford Arms Beefeater restaurant Stockport

Welcome to the Bamford Arms, we’re a warm and friendly steakhouse just a five-minute drive from the centre of Stockport. We serve the tastiest cuts of steak and traditional pub classics at great value prices, along with a brilliant range of drinks ideal for any occasion. We’re a great spot whether you’re after a quick lunch or you’re hosting a big event.

Our team You can always rely on a Beefeater restaurant for the best steaks, but at the Bamford Arms we’re more than just our food – the ambience, relaxed setting and top tier service is all down to the hard work of our team. It’s our team that keeps our guests coming back time after time, and that shows from our brilliant TripAdvisor and Google reviews.

We know a lot of people come to the Bamford Arms for the company, and our team always make an effort to make sure people who want a chat have someone to talk to. We also have great relationships with local businesses, and our team are experts at hosting a range of events no matter the setting.

Our location Our restaurant has a lot of history to it. The Bamford Arms is a listed building that dates back to the 1800s, in fact the Bamford name has been a big deal in Stockport for centuries. We’ve renovated and modernised our restaurant a little since then to turn it into the welcoming and wonderful place it is today.

Our restaurant is set across two floors with a dedicated pub space and reception area on the ground floor. Our dining areas are upstairs, with plenty of cosy corners and cubby holes to relax and eat in peace. We have stairlifts to ensure our upstairs area is accessible to everyone, though please note our stairlift can’t accommodate electric wheelchairs due to their weight.

Our reception area is great for gatherings of around 15 people, and we have private function areas upstairs ideal for groups of 30-50 – we can host bigger events too, just let us know in advance!

We also have outdoor space and tables for up to 30 people, perfect for a relaxing drink in the sun.

Make sure to take a look at our offers page for all our latest deals and promotions.

Why we love Stockport Stockport’s always been a head above the rest – the city’s most famous for making and exporting hats across the world. We might have left our industrial roots behind us, but there’s still plenty to see in one of Greater Manchester’s busiest and most bustling cities.

The Bamford Arms is close to some of the best spots in town. Whether that’s walks across Bramhall Hall Park, the Peak Forest Canal or even to the Hat Works – which is exactly what it sounds like, a museum about Stockport’s amazing hat history.

If you’re looking to do a spot of shopping after dinner, we’re only a 10-minute drive away from the Court Shopping Centre in the heart of town. And we’ve got great connections on to Manchester itself and other bigger cities nearby. We’re also only a 20-minute drive away from Manchester Airport.

8 of us went for a meal, sat down and waited a while for someone to take our order. When the meals came wasn't that blown away. Admittedly the salmon I had was nice but I was supposed to have had fries with the salmon. What I got I can only describe as potatoes bits. Very small about a cm long. And a bit of lettuce at the side not even a nice salad. Very poor for the price of £15.79

Been today for a family meal 7 adults + 2 small children, the staff were welcoming especially Peter, who was very attentive. it was a wet Sunday lunch time & it was quiet. Food was excellent, portion sizes were enough, the desserts looked delicious, sadly didn't have room for one. I have been in the week & the lunch time menu is great value for money. If I had to find a down side, the carpet could do with a hoover.

Was a bit chaotic when first got there as it was busy which was good to see on Christmas day. The food was great and service was very good. Will definitely be back next year.

The lamb dinner was nice.it was a nice big meal. Also the prawn cocktail I enjoyed. What I didn't like was the menus were sticky and should have been wiped. There were marks on the chair also. The service was good although a glass was smashed at one point which was a bit alarming. Also I went to the loo but when I got there the toilet was almost overflowing with water and toilet paper with blood on it. It made me feel sick especially in the middle of a meal. It would have been better to close this and put a note on to advise to use ones on the lower floor instead which I ended up doing. My dessert was nice and coffee was fine apart from no milk being delivered. I think there was a problem with the payment machine but worked after a couple of times.
