We are writing to inform you that as of 1st December 19, The Departure Lounge Clitheroe has been appointed by The Mid-counties Co-operative Travel Consortium to facilitate all forward confirmed bookings made through Avista Travel, Clitheroe.
This situation has arisen due to our shared consortium informing us of Donna’s intention to retire, & Avista Travel sadly closing its doors on 29th November this year. Donna and her team have serviced the people of Clitheroe for over 9 great years, and it is our intention to ensure that the service you have enjoyed continues into 2020 and beyond.
Please be assured that all monies and bookings are safe under the The Mid-counties Co-operative Travel Consortium umbrella for all confirmed & yet to depart Avista Travel bookings. All existing bookings that are due to travel from the 1st December will be moved over to The Departure Lounge, Clitheroe and your holiday plans will not be disrupted.
Due to this, we are pleased to advise we have successfully taken on the lease of 3 Castle Street, the former location of Avista Travel & this will become the home for The Departure Lounge Clitheroe. From 1st December please be advised the branch will be closed whilst we undergo our Lounge refurbishment, all phone calls and emails will be covered during this time. We are also very pleased to inform you that familiar faces Sam Briggs & Briony Townsend will be joining our team at The Departure Lounge Clitheroe as from 1st December. The Departure Lounge Clitheroe will be the new addition to the already successful The Departure Lounge portfolio. Established in 2008 The Departure Lounge has gone from strength to strength, offering the highest level of customer service, a passionate interest in our clients travel plans whilst always striving for the best value. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail & our dedication to any holiday, whatever the budget. We don’t just wish to meet our client’s expectations; we want to exceed them!

Johanne Banks5 StarWe are planning a 50th birthday 🎉 & wanted something quite different, yet we are quite set in the standards of vacation we take. Having been to several travel agencies who didn’t follow up, we were beginning to loose faith !
Then we popped in to see Jo @ the Departure Lounge, we knew immediately she was attentive & super knowledgeable, she just “got” us. Jo & her amazing team have followed up on all communications and delivered the perfect plan for our special occasion!
We haven’t traveled as yet, however we know we are in safe hands 🙌

As well as booking the flight she also gave me lots of advice on travel during these uncertain times.

Ian Craig Hilton5 StarMany people in both the travel industry and outside wonder whether retail travel has a future given the exponential growth in online travel sites. My personal view is that it does but only if a lot of added value and a destination shopping experience is offered.
Too many travel agents offer what are basically identikit scruffy windows plastered with the latest bargains and are frankly a blot on the high street. People can get the cheap deals on their phone or tablet so have no reason to visit one of the generic travel agents.
In stark contrast I have seen the future of retail travel in Holcombe Brook at the Departure Lounge an independent travel agent the front window is etched with a map of the world and the frontage exudes class and style. Inside is quite literally beautiful with luxury chairs and a very nice atmosphere the professionalism of the staff is unmatched they are extremely welcoming.
The Departure Lounge offer a tailored approach to your travel needs something that you can't get from the internet if you are about to book a luxury holiday online don't do it go to Departure Lounge where you will get something I have never seen before a destination shopping experience from a travel agent I've literally never seen a classy travel agent before this shop would not be out of place in Paris.
Very very impressed with what the owner has done with this agency I've seen the future of retail travel and it's in Holcombe Brook very superior travel agency that points to the future with flair and innovation.
Brilliant conception and execution THE place to come if you want to arrange a luxury holiday you will benefit from 50 years of travel experience and personal experience of the destinations. Superlative we see so little innovation on our high street's that it's very satisfying when I see something this original. The Departure Lounge is the only game in town as far as travel agents go the BEST in Lancashire as far as I can see. Very very highly recommended 10 out of 10.Friday 22nd November 2019
