This is a real home from home for "the guests". Staff are fabulous, all of them, Management, care staff, admin staff, domestics, linen ladies and any I've missed. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. All the staff are very caring and there's a feeling of one big happy family. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is yummy and a good variety offered. Rooms are clean and it’s all been done up lovely. Mum is very happy and has got her sparkle back, we've been allowed to personalise mums room and she loves it. I've got nothing to say apart from good things about the home Sometimes I feel like booking a room for myself !!! 😁

My advice to anyone considering this home is to think twice. My Mum had to endure 3 weeks in this place and was removed swiftly with the help of the ICB and social worker. Dirty bed linen clearly stained by previous occupant, lost her personal fiddle toys, lost clothing and toiletries, dirty cutlery, cable ties big enough to poke eyes out strapped to side of the bed rails. Everything was too much effort for the staff. Many of the times we were there residents all in a room with one member of staff all bored to tears with nothing to do. We asked what activities they did and get this, the nurse said an activity was talking to them or letting them walk up and down the corridor. Surely talking is something that they should be doing as standard basic care and a wandering resident that is pacing the corridor is trying to find a way to escape to relieve boredom. There was nothing in sight for any of them to do. There was an activities lady that was off for the first week of mums stay there. When she did come back she threw a ball for 2 minutes and left the room. That was after she wiped up wee from a chair then wiped the arms of the chair with the same wipe and eventually wiped her fingers with same wipe. The last straw came when a half eaten bar of soap was found on my Mums sink. Our family were disgusted. I would not leave my dog there so why would I leave my Mother there. Raised many issues with management who didn’t appear to take anything on board and never apologised. Just had an answer for everything. Was told by the nurse when we explained the standard of care was poor that ‘that was our opinion’. They couldn’t explain a large bruise on her hand and told us they thought it may have been a blood test, but oh wait, no blood test had even been done! Think twice. Read the other poor reviews. They’re not wrong!

Home from home..... The Fountains care home is so homely and friendly, I can highly recommend. The staff are this homes biggest asset. They are so passionate, caring and always willing to go above and beyond. The home has undergone a huge refurb and this is ongoing. The reception and lounges are beautiful. The home has relandscaped the gardens both front and back and more work is planned to refit all the bathrooms. Several bedrooms have already been redone, redecorated with lovely new furniture. Food is fabulous, a full balanced diet is offered and nothing is too much trouble. The manager and her team are so friendly and professional, and happy to act on any suggestions. Highly recommend this Care home for you and your loved ones.

For me this was not a place I would choose for a loved one. My mum was not looked after properly and I found the staff to be unhelpful, except for one. At my mum's end of life I went to stay with her for the last few days. I travelled from Yorkshire, when I got there my mum had been put into a room that was awful, everything was dirty, unfinished paint work, drawers falling to pieces. It was disgusting. . She didn't have much but what she had wasn't even in her room. I personally didn't think much to this so-called care home or the staff.

Rubbish.. understaffed and under trained.. dirty rooms … not recommended….even the staff agree.. my mum passed this year..2023.. I visited every day and night and spent 30 minutes every visit cleaning room.. very uncleanliness.. monthly meetings very one sided and unpredictable and unprofessional.. always deflect the questions from families.. promise lots and deliver nothing.. very.. very .. poor .. very first day my mum asked for the toilet.. no was the reply.. you do it in bed and we change you.. and that went on for 6 months.. kept in bed.. rarely turned and ended up with stage 4 bed sores.. staff will verify.. 3 or 4 staff very understanding and really helpful.. but it’s out of there hands to do better.. shame on you fountains.. shame on you..
