You’ll never leave!’ The Palatine is a large multi-roomed pub close to the town's railway station and taxi rank. A typical community pub with the usual pub games including pool are available for the football fan, Sky Sports is available to view those all important matches. Large pub just across from Hadfield railway station, with four cask ales and continental lagers. Nicely refurbished interior, spacious seating areas, pictures of local history and a dartboard make for a pleasant environment for a pint.

Excellent selection of Robinsons beer (tied house) All on one level, very clean and tidy. The landlady Gill has held the licence for 30 years at least. All the staff, mainly female are Excellent, clean, efficient and tidbit was fully refurbished six years ago to a very high standard. Good games rooms pool, darts and domino's etc. Great views of the countryside from the back windows. All in all a fine pub. Hadfield was Royston Vasey in the t.v series The League of Gentlemen, signage is displayed on the walls, much of the material was actually written this pub, many of the scenes were filmed in the immediate area, including my house in the introduction. It's what I call a happy pub.

It turns out to be true what people told me about the landlady's attitude and rudeness, after someone misheard what I said and kicked of at me I then quickly stepped back and did nothing violent but she frew me out and barred me but didn't bar the other person (we've shook hands now), then after about 7 years I went in and politely explained and apologised and she just said "thanks for the apology but I've heard what type of person you are" and by that I'm sure she means after hearing from the landlord of another pub when I had a epileptic seizure just 10 minutes after going in this other pub, the bouncers wouldn't have let me in if I was drunk and then just after I ordered my pint I faintly remember a weird feeling go through me before I collapsed and what people that were there told me next time I saw them I was shaking on the floor. The landlord of the other pub is also rude and ignorent, and just wouldn't believe it was an epileptic seizure. People should remember there's always 2 sides to a story.
