Well-i-Hole Farm Caravan and Camping

Well-i-Hole Farm is a family run business in Greenfield, Saddleworth, situated north east of Oldham, North England, in the green, Pennine Hills that were part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Greenfield is known to many as the jewel in Saddleworth's crown. The farm had been operated by the Hadfield family since 1923. The site is now run by Steve Walsh. Well-i-Hole Farm is a quiet caravan site, situated in a picturesque valley with spectacular views . Within a few miles you can enjoy a wide range of sporting activities. Why not try mountain biking around the Saddleworth Moors? There are also nearby squash clubs and gyms, or for the more relaxed, a quiet sheltered cricket ground nearby, tennis courts and bowling greens. Leave the M60 motorway at Junction 23, onto A635 (Manchester Road). After 0.6 miles keep right onto Park Parade. Continue for approx 5.1 miles then turn left at the Royal George Hotel onto Well-i-hole Road. The site is on the right after 150 yards (before the bridge).

Spent a lovely weekend here. Loved the shop. Jams, fresh milk and butter, Weather was on our side. Views was fab. The wet rooms was reasonably clean. Had a free bird show from a man flying his bird. The owner did say I could go over to him to see the bird, but I was in the middle of our dinner. You can hear a little road noise but that didn't put us off. We will return sometime soon. There is an adult only area but I prefer the main field. Love seeing family happy when their camping. .

Rather abrasive lady who runs the place. Don’t bother if you want to make noise, especially after 10pm. She had the cheek to say our stay would cause her to lose business. I reckon it’s her attitude which causes them to lose business. I reckon she must have about 10 arguments a day with her customers, just going around every day picking fights! One of our party was stuck in the disabled toilets. We could see that a pin needed knocking up to free the door. So I attempted to do so using my knife. Again, the lady who runs the place implied we broke the door by sticking a knife in it. When All they did to fix the door was stuck a flat headed screwdriver in it. My wife parked on the grass as we were loading up our caravan, this wasn’t allowed, despite there being lots of cars parked on the grass. Some of our party left via taxi. Of course the taxi driver got told off for parking in the car park. There was a screw on the gravel which went in to my shoe and stuck in my foot, causing pain and wrecking a nearly new pair of trainers. She also came round to our party in the early evening and rather rudely did a “roll call” to ensure no visitors had come on to the site. Generally unwelcoming campsite with lots of rules that you’ll be jumped on for.

Love this place. Our little home from home. Had some of our best little holiday ere. Ignore all the negative comments. If you can’t stick to rules or show respect don’t go. Treat the field and other campers how you would like to be treated. If you haven’t been yet, give it a try you won’t regret it. We went to wellifest. It was amazing. Such a great atmosphere The staff are great. Lovely family ran business. Always treated us with respect. Even when I’m trying to park the caravan haha. The brownies in the farm shop are unreal. All I can say is this is a great site 👍🏻😀
